Phew, it's now almost 2pm and it's my first chance to sit down properly and do my Tuesday's Tallies. Most of the morning has been taken up dealing with an infestation of the headlice variety. Eventually I admitted defeat - wet combing just wasn't going to get rid of them all, there was lots and lots - and went to the chemist to get some treatment for the little blighters. Order has almost been restored to the house I am pleased to say!
So, here's my updates for this week. I now have 41 completed squares on my Sunny Spread. 32 of those are joined and the remaining nine will be joined when I have 16 completed squares.

My little granny squares cushion cover now has 20 little squares completed and will require 100 in total. They are super quick to make and I'm really loving how these are working up. I even have a cushion ready to sew the panel on to :)

So, that's it from me today. Thank you for all the kind comments on my last post. I'm pleased to say there's been a little less in the way of bad behaviour over the last few days and it's back to school tomorrow which always helps!
It's one of those days here! I'll be back to update this post properly with my photos for this week and my square count but for those of you way more organised than me.......
So time for the fun bit! If you would like to participate in 'Tuesday's Tallies' please add your details below, remembering to use your the link for your post rather than your blog. You don't have to leave a comment (although it's very lovely when you do!) and it would be great if you could visit some of the links too. If you are participating please could you link back to this post :)
Not way more organised but trying to squeeze this in before the fun begins with all else I have to do!
ReplyDeleteLook forward to seeing your progress later!
After last week I had to try and get my post on the right day!
ReplyDeleteHope you get a chance to post later!
Icky Icky head lice, sometimes only chemicals will do I'm afraid. I love your little squares, they are so pretty and of course your circles are still looking gorgeous. Well done for managing to squeeze anything in over half term, it was a crochet wipe out in our house!
ReplyDeleteYour blanket and the little grannies look great. Love the colors.
ReplyDeleteThe mere mention of lice makes me itch, my oldest seems to be prone to them, he must have a tasty head! We had some success with using cheap (£1 bottle) tea tree conditioner after shampooing as the smell lingers after rinsing....worked for us and he has had some bad bouts.
ReplyDeleteYour squares as ever, look lovely and the littlies are gorgeous!
Looking good, I'm loving the little granny squares!
ReplyDeleteI do love you delicious lil squares! Can't wait to see the finished cushion.
ReplyDeleteHead live are nasty lil beggars!! Good luck with getting rid I thought my lil un had them but it turned out it was just a reaction so I can breathe easy for now!
Look forward to next weeks update :-)
I love the little squares. I can't wait to see some panels on the sunny spread joined up, I'm sure it will be stunning.
ReplyDeleteHi Carole,
ReplyDeleteLove your squares, little and big. They are so bright and cheery. Have a great day!

How I enjoyed looking through the posts so far! I picked up my Ripple for the first time in a week and look forward to working on it.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week, and I hope you manage with the head lice, Carole!
Oh dear, that's no fun (for you or the kids) hope they are all gone now... Makes me feel a bit itchy just thinking about it! Your squares both big and small are luverly!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors in your mini granny squares, looking good!
ReplyDeleteAAhhh I hate headlice those little critters are a terror to kill. your squares are looking lovely beautiful colours and you'll have 100 in no time. xx
ReplyDeleteRe the headlice, the chemicals seem to work.....but, they come back. And back and back. This is all years ago as my daughter grown up now. One day we were messing about with a set she had got for Christmas which was a children's make your own shampoo, bath bubbles etc. well, the scent had run out, so I added some lavender. Daughter washed hair with it (left it beautiful too) and a day or so later I noticed there were no more nits. It could only have been that. Used it several more times and they never came back after being a problem for months and months. Nothing else worked. I had heard of using tea tree (which she wouldn't let me use as she absolutely loathed the smell) or other oils or in combo but not lavender. Since then I have read of lavender being used too, it certainly worked for us and is one of the safest and most gentle of the essential oils.
ReplyDeleteThanks for entertaining me at your linky party. This is my first TT post, (proper one, anyway!). Love your squares. Sympathising with the headlice issue, been there with 3 unwilling small children.
ReplyDeleteLOVE your squares! :) I don't really have a tally post but there's an entire page on my blog dedicated to our first ever Instagram Grannysquare Swap! Does that count too? :) Also, I just opened my Etsy shop - happy day! :)
ReplyDeletexo,
wink
Just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love your Sunny Spread photo, it makes me think of what traffic lights could look like in a better world :) (ok, my world)
ReplyDeleteI can't join in today because I forgot to take photos in the daylight (I might get a chance tomorrow lunch time if I can pop home though!)
ReplyDeleteHow many big squares are you making in the end?
Sunny squares and tiny grannies are both looking gorgeous! Now nits... okay call me strange, and I did hate it when they invaded, but can I confess to one little secret...I loved squishing them... just punishment for invading my little one's heads I think!! :)x
ReplyDeleteYour projects are looking super, hope the chemist helped deal with the lice!
ReplyDeleteLovely lovely squares! Have a great week, Judy x
ReplyDeleteI'm so missing my rippling while I'm away!
ReplyDeleteLoving looking at your progress, while wishing mine was somehow growing unaided while I'm away...
I really love those granny squares, they look adorable :)
