Baby Blankets and Songs to Make you Smile and Cry!

I finished this the first of the baby blankets I have planned for the bump. The pattern comes from this blog here It is knitted with Sirdar Calico so it's nice and light - perfect for the summer weather which we will hopefully be having when the baby is here. I also have another blanket underway from the same blog which I will share when it's finished.

I've been feeling a bit low these last few days and one song guaranteed to make me shed a few tears is Always a Woman to Me but I'm also enjoying reminiscing and singing along to Birdhouse in your Soul by They Might be Giants. And in true Eurovision spirit my favourite song from last night is Allez Ola Ole from France.

Sunny Days and Silly Cats!

I have finally hung up my nursing dress once again and I am now taking five weeks annual leave. Once I reach 34 weeks I will be on maternity leave for a whole year. Money could be tight but we will manage somehow!

Bizarrely I seem to have slumped into a bit of a low mood since I finished work. I think it is because of events that happened last time I was pregnant and rather than talking about it I am letting it stew until eventually I imagine things will get too much.

The weather has been lovely, lots of sunshine and high temperatures. We spent most of the weekend in the garden and had a BBQ two days in a row!

This photographs looks like George and Imogen are working together to fill the pool when in actually fact they spent most of the weekend shouting at each other! They both had to be sent inside over the course of the weekend to 'calm down'. George is especially shouty at the moment and it really does get very tiresome.

Rich has been tidying up some of the garden furniture ready for the summer. Everything is getting a lick of dark chocolate wood stain! Even Molly the old age cat wanted to join in!

Molly has started following us to school on a morning much to the amusement of other people we meet along the way! No-one believes she is as old as what she is - they all think she is a kitten, whereas really she is probably about 14 or 15 years old.

It's Been a While - Again

I used to love my blog, and I still do but I seem to find it difficult to find the time or the inclination to update it. However, I am entering another new chapter in my life and so maybe now is a good time to start spending time tending my blog again.

So what is this new chapter then? Well, it's another baby! I'm 28 weeks today and baby no 4 is due on the August the 7th. All is well so far, despite feeling very unwell at the start and I'm now looking forward to working my last two shifts at work next week and taking early maternity leave.

The other children continue to grow and flourish, especially little Katherine, who on the whole is just at absolute pleasure to be around. George is George, he lives in his own little world most days, that still revolves around Lego and his X-Box. Imogen, what can I say, she has her moments, she struggles to listen and follow instructions but on the whole is very sweet and is a kind playmate to her little sister.

Last week I met with some friends at Riverside Park in Chester Le Street where Katherine got to meet some swans. They were huge and towered over her and she wasn't in the slightest bit bothered by them! Ducks Mammy, ducks!
